Wyoming Wildlife Federation is working closely with Wyoming Game and Fish Department to identify locations to build primitive boat access sites along the lower Green River where there is no access at this time, causing overuse at the current sites which are far apart. The additional access sites will spread out user impact and better protect riverbanks from erosion. Seven primitive boat ramp locations will be identified and built over the next seven years, with three of the boat ramps constructed first to study if there is a reduced impact on the fish and better streambank stability to prevent erosion. The project also will erect signage marking transitions from public to private land so that river users can know where legal anchoring and camping areas exist.
